I was very lucky to have found it locally by chance and got it for a very reasonable price. So by obtaining this it has given me the energy to complete the site which has been going for 8 years.
Look out for plenty of new content.
After 30 years of collecting, I finally completed every home programme back to 1946. The programme that has eluded me for so long, Bournemouth at home in 1946.

How time flies when your having fun....between quitting work, little eva turning up and completing a degree for a new career the site has been neglected so to speak. Fear not, now I have somewhat of a normal life, I will update everything. There are a tonne of new programmes that have been added to the collection so enjoy the update.
Cheers Matt I didnt realise that this site had been going for so long and still had yet to finish it. Busy time coming up soon with exams, holidays, the euros - yes the euros, never thought I would see Wales in a major finals in my lifetime. Saying that I never thought I would see the city in a FA Cup or League Cup Final!!!
I really hope I manage to get this finished soon although it will be a struggle with all of the above and my daughter who arrived three months ago. Please bare with me :-) Cheers Matt A few years have gone by with nothing much exciting surfacing, then a trio of rare programmes appear. Sadly I only managed to purchase two of them after being the underbidder on the other....One day I'll have it eh Mr H ;-)..
The three that appeared two of which were thought to be no issues are Sunderland in Bern on the 11th May 1960 and an equally rare wartime away friendly in Germany played against the Combined Services X1 on the 10th April 1946. I also managed to pick up Cardiff Corinthians played at Ninian Park on the 19th April 1948. A very nice rare addition to the collection. fF W Well first of all my apologies for no updates for such a long time, college, work and a few personal issues took over !!. But im back now and ready to scan and boy is there a lot still to scan. I will have a bit more time now having left my job and will be off to university in a few weeks. Its a little bit scary off to uni at 36 but if I didnt do it now I would of never done it.
So the season so far has been eventful to say the least however it was a boring pre season in programme terms where nothing was produced in Austria (except teamsheets), nothing in Portugal or Sarayevo for the u21s squad. Plenty of games after then with plenty of programmes produced, most will be on the site soon. I have not really bought much of late with uni in mind so will leave it up to my father to splash the cash on programmes for once :-). Will try to do some season updates this week but will probably see a big update when I return from Andorra. Cheers Matt So Ole is starting to open Mr Tans purse strings to improve the team with a few of his old players. It seems very likely that within the next 48 hours we will have two Norwegian internationals in our squad. We are also being linked heavily with Zaha from Manchester United. Magnus Wolff Eikrem who currently plays for Heerenveen is the first player that looks likely to sign. Magnus started his career at Molde before joining Manchester United. After a short spell at Manchester United Magnus returned to Molde. At Molde he played 68 times scoring 6 goals. He then went onto sign for Heerenveen and played 13 times scoring 2 goals. Eikrem has also played for Norway at Under 17, 19, 21 level and the full national team scoring 2 goals in the process. Mats Møller Dæhli is another player that Ole is looking to sign with the current norwegian international arriving in Cardiff two days ago for talks. A very young player who Ole rates very highly and will be one to perhaps develop rather than play automatically in the first team. Mats also played for Manchester United and was very highly thought of in the reserve and youth setup. Last year Mats returned to Norway and played for Molde under Ole appearing 12 times. Mats has also played for Norway at Under 15, 16, 19, 21 level and made his debut for the national team in 2013. Well first of all Happy New Year to all that follow the site ! ! Apologies for the lack of updates of late, to many things going on and not enough time.
So Mr Tan got his way and got rid of Malky, seems that there was a few things going on in the background which im sure will eventually come out. We now have Ole, welcome to the club ! Excellent start to his career at the City with an excellent win at Newcastle on the weekend. There will be a huge update coming to the site soon as I have been scanning over christmas, I will also be updated this years homes Well not a bad start so far to the season considering the teams that we have played. To be honest from the three home games that we have played I expected no points so 4 isnt bad at all.
It was very disappointing on Sunday especially when spurs scored so late in the game, the ref got the disallowed goal spot on in my eyes. I just wished he had used his premiership eyes to spot the obvious handball that would of changed the game ive no doubt. On the programme front I have now scanned programmes up to 1961...The updates will slow down a little now mainly due to the fact that Ill be working full-time and studying part time, but I will try to get the programmes up on the site soon. On the buying front not a huge amount has been spent despite being plenty of nice programmes on ebay. I have however recently purchased a very rare single sheet welsh cup semi final programme against Merthyr Tydfil played at Swansea from 1949. A scan of this will be on the site soon. Cheers for now ! As stated in the title there were three games in three days, one a hastily arranged friendly against Penybont played on Thursday evening and two played on the Saturday, one at Hereford United and the other at home against Chievo Verona.
On Thursday evening a near full development squad played against Penybont with Velikonja and Kiss the only noticeable first teamers playing. A good evening with around 150 people in attendance saw City take a 3 nil lead in the first half with goals coming from Tommy O'Sullivan and two from Rhys Healey. In the second half both sides came close to adding more goals but Penybont managed to get the only goal. On Saturday city sent a mixed squad to Hereford and ran out 2 nil winners with both goals coming in the first half from Kadeem Harris and Nicky Maynard. The second game of the day was again played with a mixed squad at The Cardiff City Stadium against Chievo Verona. A single goal in the second half from Kim Bo-Kyung was enough to see off the serie a side. The development side travel to Connah's Quay Nomads tomorrow evening, I should have the image of the programme up over the next few days. In the meantime I have attched the three programmes from the above games. Just a quick blog from tonights match. A very strong team sent to Port Talbot this evening by the City including many 1st teamers. A very good match with the steelmen putting up a good match.
Nicky Maynard scored in the first half with a simple tap in, the second half saw an equaliser before Ralls popped the winner in late on in the second half. A decent crowd in attendance and with Scotty Young in charge ive no doubt Port Talbot will fair well in the Welsh Premier this year. I have also added a scan of this evenings match, the city are playing at Penybont FC tomorrow evening kicking off at 7pm. http://www.penybontfc.co.uk/news/details.php?news_id=8571#news |
